Mailing Lists
The Utah Speculative Fiction Council runs several mailing lists to help its members communicate more easily. There are UtahSF-specific lists as well as lists hosted for individual groups. You can learn more about these lists below:

| Announce |
The Announce mailing list is for any speculative fiction announcements of general interest to all Utah fans. This can include conventions, club events & activities, book signings, sales at local stores on sf-related items, upcoming workshops, book releases, etc. This list is moderated, and any post to it must be approved by one of the list moderators before it goes out on the list. In general, replies to posts on this list will be declined by the moderators unless they offer corrections or clarifications to one of the announcements. If you wish to discuss one of the posts made to this list, please do so on the Chat list.

| Chat |
The Chat mailing list is for discussion of any speculative fiction topics of interest to the current members. In general, political and religious discussion is discouraged unless it is directly related to speculative fiction in some way. Discussion is un-moderated, but do not be surprised if one of the list admins asks you to curb discussion of a particular topic if the discussion starts veering too far off the stated realm of discussion described above. Generally, though, this list will police itself.

The Comp-l mailing list is for discussion of the computer services offered by UtahSF. The members of the list are determined by the UtahSF Council and the Director of Computer Services for UtahSF.

| Council |
The Council mailing list is for UtahSF Council discussion outside of its regular meetings. Anyone may join this list. However, individuals who are not sitting members of the council itself must have all posts approved before they are posted. Please note that this is not intended to censor individual opinions, but to keep the discussion from getting out of hand (the same as in a meeting, where the chair will allow opinions to be spoken, but controls the meeting). In general, though, posts by individuals who are not sitting on the council will be approved without comment.
